Moneris Academy and ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon have established a strategic partnership aimed at bringing the academy closer to the business world.

Promoting a true connection between Moneris professionals and ISCTE students, this partnership is made attractive either by welcoming students in a work environment, with academic internships and summer internships, or by sharing knowledge in a classroom or seminars.

One of these moments of sharing happened recently, with an online class taught by Rui Almeida, CEO of Moneris, about “financing companies: banking and investment funds”. This class is part of the chair of business project in accounting, the third year of the degree course in Finance and Accounting.

This context of sharing and interaction promotes a huge openness in organizations, which benefit from the energy and innovation brought by recent graduates, as well as helping students in demanding adaptation to the work context and the business world.

José Miguel Rodrigues, Business Project Coordinator in Accounting at INDEG-ISCTE, says that “the university’s approach to the business world is essential in the learning process, especially in areas of knowledge related to the business world, such as accounting. The partnership with Moneris, one of the major players in the accounting market, both in the curricular internships and at the level of thematic seminars, reinforces this same approach, constituting an undoubted value in the learning process of future professionals in this area”.

In this context of sharing and involvement with the Academy, Moneris has several partnerships with higher education institutions, which allow a local proximity to our 18 Business Units, located from North to South of the country, promoting initiatives that can bring the academic reality closer to the business world.
