With the signing of this protocol, the Faculty of Economics of the UAlg and Moneris aim to promote joint actions, including the development and implementation of training in different areas of knowledge, professional and curricular internships for students, privileged access to services and events for students and employees of Moneris, cooperation in the development and dissemination of future joint activities and initiatives.
This protocol, signed by Efigénio da Luz Rebelo, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, and Rui Pedro Almeida, CEO Managing Partner of Moneris, reinforces the ties between the two institutions, underlining Moneris’ commitment to the Algarve Region and the strengthening of the relationship between the prestigious academic institution and the surrounding business environment.
The signing ceremony of the protocol was followed by a visit to some of the spaces of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, on the Gambelas Campus.
Professor Luis Serra Coelho, associate professor with aggregation at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, and Miguel Alexandre Pinto, Director of Moneris in the Algarve and alumnus of the Algarve university institution, joined this moment of signing the agreement.

It is strategic for us to create favourable conditions for the development of the business fabric Portuguese, through training, and to be able to provide our students with the best conditions for success in their future professional careers”, shares Professor Efigénio Rebelo.

Economic and business sciences, with a special focus on the financial sector, constitute an area of proficiency at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve. This partnership is aligned with Moneris’ strategy, based on a growing proximity to the Academy, and also convergent with the area of professional training for professionals – Moneris Academy.
In this sense, Moneris has been establishing cooperation agreements with prestigious educational institutions, reinforcing its presence among the new generations, with knowledge and talent, from north to south of the country.
