Support for operations developed by SMEs, in Low-Density Territories, can reach up to 60% non-repayable
Within the scope of the Business Competitiveness Incentive System, Applications for Productive Innovation in Low-Density Territories are open.
This support has the following main objectives:
- Production of new goods and services or significant improvements of current production through the transfer and application of knowledge;
- Adoption of new, or significantly improved, manufacturing processes or methods, logistics, as well as business models, organizational or marketing methods.
The following operations of an innovative nature that result in the production of tradable and internationalisable goods and services are thus eligible:
- Setting up a new establishment
- Increasing the capacity of an existing establishment
- Diversification of an establishment’s production to products not previously produced
- Modification of the overall production process of an existing establishment
The beneficiaries of this measure are SME companies that have a minimum eligible investment value of 300 thousand euros and a maximum of 25 million euros.
The support to be awarded is in the nature of a non-refundable incentive (lost fund). starting from a base rate of 25%, which can be increased up to a maximum of 40%, depending on the size of the company and its location. In the case of operations located in NUTS III Alto Alentejo and Beiras and Serra da Estrela, this maximum limit is 50% for medium-sized companies, and 60% for micro and small companies.
Applications began on July 30, and the analysis and decision will be made in two phases:
- Phase 1: Completion on 28/11/2025
- Phase 2: completion on 31/03/2026
