Applications are open for the new IEFP incentives in hiring support, which aim to support the integration of young people in their first job, the long-term unemployed and also promote the hiring of highly qualified human resources.

START Stage
With a duration of 6 months, non-extendable, this measure is aimed at young people and unemployed people with a qualification of level 4 or 5 of the NQF (National Qualifications Catalogue).
The financial contribution of the IEFP is based on the modality of unit costs, per month and per internship, under the following terms:
- Internship scholarship.
- 80% reimbursement in the following situations:
- Internship for a profession with gender underrepresentation;
- Internship located in inland territory, under the terms defined by Ordinance No. 208/2017, of 13 July;
- Internship for people with disabilities and incapacity;
- When a full-time open-ended employment contract is signed with the trainee, within 20 working days after the end of the traineeship.
- 65% reimbursement in other situations.
- Monthly internship scholarship in the following amounts:
- 1.7 IAS – level 4: €865.74;
- 1.8 IAS – level 5: €916.67.
- Meal or meal allowance.
- Occupational accident insurance.
Applications until April 28, 2025 or until the budget allocation is reached.
Internships + Talent
It lasts for 6 months, non-extendable, and is aimed at unemployed young people, registered with the IEFP, who have emigrated permanently for at least 12 months. They must also be 35 years of age or younger and have a qualification level equal to or greater than level 6 of the NQF.
The financial contribution of the IEFP is based on the modality of unit costs, per month and per internship, under the following terms:
- Internship scholarship:
- 80% reimbursement in the following situations:
- Internship for a profession with gender underrepresentation;
- Internship located in inland territory, under the terms defined by Ordinance No. 208/2017, of 13 July;
- Internship for people with disabilities and incapacity;
- When a full-time open-ended employment contract is signed with the trainee, within 20 working days after the end of the traineeship.
- 65% reimbursement in other situations.

- 2.2 IAS – level 6: €1,120.37;
- 2.4 IAS – level 7: €1,222.22;
- 2.6 IAS – level 8: €1,324.08.

Applications until April 28, 2025 or until the budget allocation is reached.
Measure + Employment
This measure is intended for the unemployed registered with the IEFP for at least 3 consecutive months and has the following conditions of application:
- Drafting of open-ended contracts;
- Net job creation in the last 12 months;
- Maintenance of jobs for the following 24 months (maintain the number of jobs at the beginning of the support);
- Professional training for the employee.
Applications for this measure open in November, however the start of the contract may be before the approval of the support.
Employment + Talent Measure
This incentive is aimed at unemployed people registered with the IEFP, or who have emigrated permanently for at least 12 months, aged 35 or under, and who have a level 6, 7 or 8 qualification.
To apply for this measure, you must meet the following requirements:
- Develop an open-ended, full-time contract with a salary of €1,385.98;
- Provide Professional Training to the employee;
- Ensure net job creation in the last 12 months;
- Maintain jobs for the 24 months following the start of the support.
Applications for this measure open in November, however the start of the contract may be before the approval of the support.
