asnuariotus2022

Moneris Tourism Yearbook is back, in an edition that leads readers to travel through all regions of Portugal, in which the multiple realities of the sector are discussed, its contribution and relevance to the economy of the regions, to the development of the territory and to the emergence of economic activities essential to the competitiveness of our lands.

We also look at the main indicators of the sector, which reflect an undeniable recovery in 2021, with the growth in the number of guests, the number of nights, RevPar, and Total Income, in all regions, in a very significant way.

According to the ine’s rapid estimates for July, 2022 already surpasses the record year of 2019, with a year-on-year growth of 6.3% in terms of guests, and 4.8% in overnight stays. Tourism revenues also continue to grow significantly, with tourism revenues expected to be close to what was expected for 2024 in 2022, which represents a significant acceleration from the sector’s recovery estimates.

This year, once again, we have extraordinarily relevant contributions, such as the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Rita Marques, the Presidents of the Tourism Regions of Portugal, the CFO of the Pestana Group, Pedro Fino, the President of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve, Hélder Martins, among many others.

We also have the contributions of our experts, which focus on diverse and structuring topics, such as: the trends of new travellers; systems of economic and financial analysis and reporting in hospitality; the new Community framework and support and incentives relevant to the sector; analysis of sectoral indicators in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022; perspectives for tourism activity.
