Moneris and HotelShop held last Friday the Webinar “Survival Management for Hotels”, which had Ambitur as a media partner.
Rui Pedro Almeida states that “we are witnessing a very large cancellation crisis”, so “revisiting the cancellation policy is absolutely crucial”, and the solution to be adopted is a “much finer negotiation policy with the guest” with the aim of “ensuring the reversal of the cancellation request” through rebooking, crediting or offering a service upgrade. In essence, to achieve measures that “allow the hotel not to decapitalize its treasury” and “guarantee reserves for when the crisis passes”.
Rui Pedro Almeida, CEO of Moneris, admits that “in the next six to nine months, we will not have a minimally sustainable hotel operation to the point of break even point” and that, “to recover the indexes that we had previously, we will probably take about two years”.
