Moneris was present at the 49th APAVT Congress, which took place in Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. At this event were Ana Alhinho de S.Louro, Partner and Coordinator of the Tourism Competence Center at Moneris, Pedro Neto, Corporate Finance Partner at Moneris and Rui Pedro Almeida, CEO & Managing Partner at Moneris.


In a meeting with more than 750 congressmen, this year’s theme was “APAVT City”, highlighting the union, diversity and collaboration between the different players in the sector. APAVT – Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies, the most relevant association in the tourism sector, reinforces the urgency and importance of cooperation.
In a full program. filled with personalities such as Pedro Reis, Carlos Abade, Paulo Portas, Pedro Siza Vieira, to name a few, Rui Pedro Almeida was present in one of the debate panels moderated by Rosália Amorim, Brand, Marketing and Communications Director at EY, with the presence of:
• Sandra Primitivo, Executive Director of EY-Parthenon;
• Pedro Cilínio, Partner at CraftGest Consulting; and
• Rui Pinto Lopes, CEO of Pinto Lopes Viagens.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado highlighted sustainability as one of the themes that unite the agendas of several countries and organizations, but also widely analysed at the Iberian Summit that took place this week in Faro, and whose conclusions reflect “the pressure on our resources, in particular water”, pointing out that “our two countries have united, our two governments, in the sense of a proposal of value and responsibility, especially for the years to come, but it is not only the pressure on resources, it is also the phenomenon of climate change mitigation, an issue that must concern us all, in particular, those of us who represent the tourism sector, which deals with a very special raw material: people”.
