For the IRC applicable in 2022, companies may not deliver the first Special Payment on Account (PEC), which usually takes place until 31 March.
This exceptional situation stems from the Government’s intention to eliminate the SGP in 2022, and will again include this measure in the proposed State Budget. Even if approved, this measure will not enter into force before the deadline for the first payment, so companies are not obliged to deliver the SGP until 31 March 2022.
Where the measure to eliminate the SGP is not subsequently approved in the state budget for 2022, taxpayers may regularise the entire amount, free of charge or burden, by 31 October 2022, the deadline for the second SGP.
