In May, stays in hospitality amounted to 5.4 million, which translates to a growth of 7.2% compared to the same period in the previous year.
The national market contributed 22.5% and the foreign market with 77.5%. The number of guests was set at 2 million, reflecting an increase of 7.9% compared to the same period in the previous year.
The overall income of hospitality totaled 318.8 million euros, between 72.2% and 27.8%.
In absolute terms, this figure translates into an increase of EUR 52 million compared to 2016.
The occupancy rate per quarter reached 75%, that is, it improved 4.5 percentage points.
RevPar rose 20.9%, to €52.6.
The number of guests from abroad reached 1.3 million, with a growth rate of 9.4%.
Markets in Brazil, the USA and Italy recorded the most significant growth of 42.9%, 33.8% and 14.7%, respectively.
By contrast, there was a decrease in the Netherlands markets (-9.5%) and Belgium (-5.6%).
The number of guests sleeping from abroad reached approximately 4.2 million, representing a growth of 7.3%, in line with the behavior of the indicator of variation in number of guests.
Brazil’s market grew 40.3% and the U.S. market, with a 34.2% increase, stood out by the positive.
By juxtaposition, there was a decrease in the Netherlands markets (-6.1%) and Belgium (-7.5%).
