Applications until April 29, 2022
Applications to the PRR for extractive and manufacturing industries, as well as industrial park management entities, are open, with an allocation of 705 million euros for the decarbonization of the industry.
This is deep-lost support, with differentiated rates depending on the typology of investments, which aims to contribute to the objective of carbon neutrality by promoting the energy transition through energy efficiency, support for renewable energies, focusing on the adoption of low-carbon processes and technologies in industry and the incorporation of renewable energy and energy storage.
Types of eligible projects:
Low-carbon processes and technologies
- Replacement of equipment using fossil fuels by electrical equipment;
- Improving the quality of service in access to electricity;
- use of alternative fuels derived from non-fossil waste;
- Incorporation of alternative raw materials in the production process, aiming at reducing emissions (by-products, recycled, biomaterials);
- New low carbon products;
- Industrial symbiosis for decarbonisation, both technologically and systemly;
- Replacement of fluorinated gases with fluorinated gases of reduced global warming potential;
- Digitization of processes in order to ensure traceability of products and enhance the circular economy;
- Promote eco-innovation by enhancing circular value chains that generate new business models and industrial symbiosis;
- Introduction of renewable raw materials with low carbon footprint;
- Bet on digital solutions through intelligent solutions to support measurement, monitoring, data processing for the management and optimization of processes, consumption and reduction of pollutant emissions, increasing the efficiency of resource use (raw materials, water, energy) and promoting their circularity.
Energy efficiency measures
- Optimization of engines, turbines, pumping systems and ventilation systems;
- Optimization of compressed air systems;
- Replacement and/or alteration of ovens, boilers and injectors;
- Heat or cold recovery;
- Use of waste heat from nearby industries (in industrial symbiosis);
- Optimization of industrial cold production;
- Technological modernization, integration and process optimization;
- Energy management, monitoring and control systems.
