The programmes of the next Community support framework were approved on Thursday 15 December.
Portugal 2030 consists of four thematic programmes:
- Demographics, qualifications and inclusion;
- Innovation and digital transition;
- Climate action; and
- Sustainability and Sea.
The new community support framework also consists of seven regional programmes – North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo, Algarve, Azores and Madeira. In addition, a technical assistance programme and a European territorial cooperation programme have been set up.
At issue are EUR 22.9 billion which can be organised around five thematic objectives, the most relevant being the social aspect (7.9 billion), followed by the green component (5.4 billion) and competitiveness (5.2 billion).
By the end of Q1 2023, the general rules for implementing the programmes, the appointment of their management teams, as well as the definition of specific regulations and the preparation of the criteria for selecting types of action to be supported should be adopted, which will allow the first notices to be submitted to applications to be launched.
